We teamed up with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, comedians Natasha Leggero and Joe Lo Truglio, and a surprise Shannen Doherty cameo to create Escape My Life, a comedic web series where a Ford Escape becomes a central character in the absurd story of a costume designer who unwittingly “inherits” a guy named Barry. As co-creator and lead writer, I helped shape the concept and worked with the screenwriter to make the car a star alongside the characters. To extend the world, I also created a Tumblr in Barry’s voice to deepen engagement with the series. The series went on to be the only branded web series named to Paste Magazine’s top ten of the year, amassing millions of views and sparking a new audience for Ford.
